Training Center

The Training Centre is located in Teya-teyaneng in the Berea District, 38 km from Maseru, the capital city of Lesotho.

The Centre offers technical training for the labour force and management training for professionals in the roads sub-sector. The Training Centre runs training programmes for contractors and their staff in labour-based work relating to road maintenance and rehabilitation, road construction as well as upgrading.

The Centre also offers lodging and conference facilities in a tranquil atmosphere at affordable prices.

The Centre was established in 1992 through funding from the Swedish Government. To meet the rising need for training of contractors, the Centre facilities were extended with funding by the World Bank in 1998.

Our Centre is perfect for training courses, workshops, events and team building activities. We have 3 meeting rooms that can accommodate small and large groups.

Accommodation Facilities

The Centre boasts 24 standard rooms with twin beds in each room, shared bathrooms on each block, with separate bathrooms for ladies and gentlemen. Our rooms can accommodate up to 48 guests. We also have self-catering units with a communal kitchen in a hostel setting. We also offer one night or weekend lodging at affordable rates.

Furnished

This is a self-catering unit with 8 fully furnished standard rooms with 16 single beds and carrying capacity is 16. The Unit also has shared bathrooms provided for both ladies and gentlemen. The facility promises a home away from home feel with a fully furnished lounge area with couches, and a TV set as well as a communal kitchen fully furnished with a fridge, microwave oven, an electric stove, pots and utensils for self- catering are also available.

These blocks provide 8 standard rooms with single beds in each room and a carrying capacity of 16 people each, adding to a total of 32 guests that can be accommodated. The blocks also provide separate but shared bathrooms for ladies and gentlemen and a small kitchenette.

Catering Facilities

The Roads Directorate Training Centre has a contracted caterer that provides catering services for different events, meetings and conferencing. Below is the standard menu set by the Centre for the caterer. However tender prices for our menu are provided by a caterer for the financial year 2021/2022.
