The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Honourable Matjato Moteane will officiate the site handover of the Seboche (Ha Parament to Lebetla) Road upgrading project to China Geo Engineering Corporation at a public gathering to be held at St. Charles in Butha-Buthe district on Monday, 10th November, 2025.

The 9.5-kilometer project is aimed at enhancing reliable all-weather access to Seboche Mission Hospital, one of the major health facilities in the Butha-Buthe district. The project starts at Ha Paramente from the recently completed Marakabei to Monontša Road (A14), passes the hospital, continues through Mahlabatheng village and connects to the A1 Road at Khukhune.

This M354,255,323.25 investment will be carried out over an 18-month period. The project will be done in three phases, encompassing design, construction and subsequent post-construction services (extra 12 months). Design will commence in December 2025, while construction is scheduled to start in January 2026, with the project anticipated to be completed by July 2027.

The construction phase includes two major drainage structures, installation of 3.5 km of solar street lighting, and speed calming measures in built-up areas. In addition, the project scope includes demarcation of the road reserve, sheltered bus bays, construction of twenty stalls for local vendors and a parking area at Seboche Mission Hospital.

Upon completion, the upgraded road will improve access to healthcare services, stimulate local businesses and create job opportunities for the surrounding communities.
