Duties: 1. Management and supervision of electrical section staff. Management and control of the Electrical & Electronic Sub-Section comprising of artificial road lights, traffic lights and associated facilities throughout the country. 2. Prepare annual work programs and cost estimates for construction and maintenance of existing electrical and electronic installations under the responsibility of Roads Directorate. 3. Project planning and design, preparation of scope of works, tender briefs and tender invitations for constructions/maintenance of artificial road lighting and traffic lights and all other electrical and electronic infrastructure within Roads Directorate network. 4. Assist in the procurement, management and supervision of consultants and contractors including ensuring safety at construction sites and preparation of payments certificates. 5. Continuous assessment and compilation of periodic reports with appropriate recommendations on the operations of existing artificial road lights and traffic lights. 6. Closely liaise with the relevant utility companies, compile and record all their existing and new services located within the road reserve. 7. Record damages and vandalism to artificial road lights and traffic lights components and follow up their replacement cost recovery from the culprits. 8. Organize and provide appropriate hands-on training to junior staff of the Sub-Section and other staff of the Roads Directorate. 9. Ensure compliance with the Laws of Lesotho and standards of good practice in execution of works. 10.Advice and ensure all existing and new electrical and electronic installations on all assets of the Roads Directorate comply with the prevailing local standards and specifications and maintained in good working conditions at all times and where necessary attend to repairs.
